We are growing disciples of Jesus Christ through the teaching of God's Word and the demonstration of God's love.

Nursery

Nurture Them Up

Children are always welcome in our worship service or in the cry room at the back of the sanctuary.

For parents who  choose to take advantage of it, nursery care provides a safe place for kids aged infant through Pre-K.

Our loving nursery caregivers will ensure they have fun together during  the 10:30am service.

This room is great to learn about Jesus' love from the start.

Kids need to know Jesus.  They need to know who He was, What He did, and What He means to us today.

The Children's Ministry offers you these ideas to keep Jesus and HIS word your focus during summer:

1. Go to church  together! Here on Sundays, Silverdale Community Church offers children a learning/playing time called Children's Church during the  sermon.

2. Do some  activities together as a family like:

  • read and act out a bible story together as a family
  • memorize a scripture
  • write a scripture on the sidewalk in front of your house
  • come to our FREE Family Day on August 15, right here on our campus

3. Experience God's creation.  Notice the  various wonderful features of nature around you when you are together outdoors, such as the varieties of plants, birds, animals, the changing  weather, water features, and geological features such as mountains,  lakes and rivers, and the sky at night.  Pause and think of ways to thank God for what  you saw and experienced together.

4. Pray together anytime, either at home or away, remembering to thank God for who he is, what you saw or how you feel, and salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for one another and for other people as well.

Invite your friends to join you and Jesus.

The teachers, Marion, Gail and Linda, are around during the summer. Catch them at worship. Tell them how you are spending time with God.

Adult and Sunday School classes are are summer break.

Classes run September through May 17.

Children's Church - Sunday 10:30am

Show Them Up

 Kids. Jesus. Love.

Always. Explore. See. Know.

Meet on Sundays | Room 105 | 10:30am

Parents may choose to have their children learn more about Jesus during the sermon time with a lesson in a small group.

The children are dismissed to attend Children's Church after the giving time before the sermon.   Teachers are at the back of the sanctuary and will escort the children to room 105, next door to the nursery.  Children will be escorted back to the sanctuary at the end  of the sermon.

  • Children attending  must be pre-registered (link coming soon) so that we have parent/guardian names and contact  information along with information about special needs.
  • Each Sunday as families arrive, the parent/guardian will sign their child(ren) in at a table in the lobby/welcome table.
  • Lessons are targeted to grades 1-5, however, younger children are welcome to attend.

Child / Youth Safety Practices

Statement of Commitment to the safety and well-being of children/youth and their protection from harm:

SCC has a God-given responsibility to nurture and protect His people, especially those who are most vulnerable and in need of protection. Thus, caring for our children and youth is a sacred trust. We follow the example of Jesus and believe that children and youth are gifts from God and should be highly valued and given every opportunity to flourish in their growth (Matthew 19:14).

How do we protect children and youth?

  • SECURE CHECK IN AND CHECKOUT PROCEDURE
  • TWO PERSON RULE—There are two staff/volunteers with our children and youth.
  • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR ALL STAFF/VOLUNTEERS
  • CHILD SAFETY TRAINING— We utilize Ministry Safe Training for all staff/volunteers with refresher course every two years.
  • STRICT REPORTING PROCEDURE— If you see something not right or concerning, say something. Report concerns to two people as well as police/CPS.

Contact the office to see the policy.
