Purpose

 Silverdale Community Church  (“SCC”), recognizes that an individual’s privacy is very important to them and that they have a right to control their personal information. Silverdale Community Church acknowledges that when an individual provides personal information about themselves to another party it is an act of trust. In response, Silverdale Community Church takes the process of upholding an individual’s privacy very seriously. Unless an individual gives Silverdale Community Church explicit consent to act otherwise, the following policy will govern how Silverdale Community Church handles an individual’s personal information and safeguards their privacy. 

Scope

 The principles contained in this privacy document apply to all personal information collected or submitted to Silverdale Community Church website, and affiliated Silverdale Community Church ministries. It does not, however, apply to entities that Silverdale Community Church does not own or control, such as enhanced applications and their websites.   

1. What information of yours does Silverdale Community Church collect?   Silverdale Community Church collects two different types of information. One type is voluntary information, which you provide, such as registration information for events, membership information, sign ups or online giving information. The other type of information Silverdale Community Church collects is user information provided by your computer each time you visit this site, such as IP address, browser. The information that Silverdale Community Church collects helps us to provide information and service to you. We may combine information from other sources with the information that we collect. You may also be able to register and log in to the site using a social media account, including a Facebook account. When you use a social media account to log into the site, you may also be able to use certain social features on the site. 

For Facebook log in, Facebook will ask your permission to share certain information from your Facebook account with the site. This may include your first and last name, gender, profile picture, list of friends, a link to your Facebook profile, likes, and other data that is part of your or your friends’ Facebook profile(s). This information is collected by Facebook and is provided to us under the terms of Facebook’s privacy policy. You can control the information that we receive from Facebook using the privacy settings in your Facebook account. By giving us the information you are consenting to its collection, use and disclosure as set forth below.   

2. What does Silverdale Community Church do with the information that is collected?   Any information that you provide to Silverdale Community Church or that is obtained through this website may be used for church purposes. SCC will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to commercial entities. Silverdale Community Church will not disclose your name, address, e-mail address or phone number without your express consent, unless disclosure is necessary to comply with laws or relevant legal proceedings. Silverdale Community Church may offer services to you such as chat rooms, message boards, or other similar discussion forums. Please be aware that any information you divulge in these arenas is deemed public information and is not protected. 

3. What are “cookies” and how does Silverdale Community Church use them?  Cookies are information that a website transfers to an individual’s PC for record-keeping purposes (e.g., if you are a Wall Street Journal Interactive user, a cookie on your PC allows you to go directly to the WSJ instead of having to give your user name and password each time). Cookies can save your preferences when you are at a site. The use of cookies is an industry standard and most major websites use them. Silverdale Community Church may use cookies to help us see which areas of our website are more popular, which are not, how they are being used so that we can improve and update our website to more accurately meet the needs of our users. At some point in the future, if Silverdale Community Church decides to offer personalized services to its users, we will use cookies to make that personalization and customization of the Silverdale Community Church website possible. How does linking to other sites affect my privacy protections?  As a courtesy, Silverdale Community Church may provide links to other sites that are neither owned nor controlled by Silverdale Community Church. Some of these sites may use the Silverdale Community Church logo. These third party sites, however, are NOT subject to or bound by the Silverdale Community Church Privacy Policy. Such third party sites may or may not have their own privacy policies and may or may not collect personal information from you or place cookies on your browser. Silverdale Community Church is not responsible for the privacy policies or any information collection practices of these sites or any damages resulting therefrom.

Silverdale Community Church and its third-party service providers may also use a variety of technologies that passively or automatically collect information about how the sites are accessed and used, including your browser type, device type, operating system, application version, the pages served to you, the time you browse, preceding page views, and your use of features or applications on the sites. This statistical data helps us understand what is interesting and relevant to users of the site so we can best tailor our content.  

5. What type of security procedures are in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your information?  The security of the information that you provide to us is very important to us. Consequently, we have taken several measures to protect your information. All transactions involving sensitive information, such as your credit/debit card number and expiration date, are conducted using a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection. This connection provides increased security to the information as it is transmitted to our website.

6. How does Silverdale Community Church protect the privacy of children?  Silverdale Community Church encourages parents and guardians to spend time with their children online. No information should be submitted to or posted on Silverdale Community Church’s website by users 13 years old and younger without the consent of their parent or guardian. Unless otherwise disclosed during collection, Silverdale Community Church will not provide any personally identifying information, regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever for our users 13 years and younger. If any services or features on the site require registration, a user 13 years old and younger will be required to provide the email of the parent or guardian which will allow us to notify that person that the child has registered for a service or feature. Parental or guardian consent will consist of an email from that person to Silverdale Community Church stating that they are aware that the child is using the website. Identifying a user as 13 or under is not easy and Silverdale Community Church will not be held responsible for anyone misrepresenting as over 13 when in fact they are not. 

7. Silverdale Community Church reserves the right to change or amend this policy. Silverdale Community Church reserves the right to change, amend, or restate this policy.

 8. Your affirmative consent to Silverdale Community Church’s collection and use of personally identifiable information. By using Silverdale Community Church’s website, you are giving us your express consent to use all the information that we collect about you in the manner described in this policy. This includes the release of such information to third parties as described above.

The website may contain links to or from other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy policies of other websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information we collect on this website. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of other websites you link to from this website or otherwise visit.

Where you have provided your consent to us processing your personal data, you may withdraw this consent at any time. At any point you would like to change your preferences and: 1. you do not wish to receive further communications from Silverdale Community Church; OR 2. you wish to change the way you receive any communication

 In addition, the Law gives you the right, under certain circumstances
• to request in writing and securely obtain copies of the personal information we hold about you;
• to correct or update your personal information held by us;
• to request us to stop using your personal information for marketing purposes or for any other purpose where there is no legal requirement for continued processing;
• to object to profiling activities based on our legitimate interest;

You will have the opportunity to decline to accept communications at any time and discontinue receiving such communication by:
